Fire Door Installation

Compliant fire door installation for residential, commercial, public-sector and social housing buildings, delivered to BM TRADA Q-Mark STD 052 standards with full documentation and sign-off.

Fire door installation done properly

A fire door only performs as intended when it is correctly specified, fitted with compatible components and installed by competent operatives. Poor installation is one of the most common reasons fire doors fail inspection: incorrect gaps, unsuitable ironmongery, damaged seals or door sets fitted outside their certified scope.

Cochrane Doors installs fire doors across occupied residential blocks, communal areas, council and housing association properties, multi-unit developments and commercial buildings. Every installation is carried out to recognised fire door installation standards and handed over with the documentation responsible persons need to evidence compliance.

What we install

  • Flat entrance doors (FD30s / FD60s)
  • Communal and corridor fire doors
  • Riser and service cupboard doors
  • Fire doors in commercial and public sector buildings
  • Replacement door sets as part of remediation or planned works

Installed to BM TRADA Q-Mark STD 052

Our installation work follows BM TRADA Q-Mark STD 052, the fire door installation standard. This means door sets are fitted within their certified parameters, with correct gaps, intumescent seals, hinges, closers and locks suited to the door's fire rating.

Fire door compliance does not come from the door alone. It depends on correct specification, compatible components, competent installation and suitable ongoing maintenance. We manage the installation stage so it stands up to inspection — and support maintenance and remediation where needed.

Survey, install, document, sign off

  • Survey — site visit to confirm door sizes, ratings, frame condition and access constraints.
  • Planning — sequencing by block, floor or priority, with resident communication agreed in advance.
  • Installation — fitting by trained operatives, working around occupied buildings and restricted access.
  • Documentation — installation records and certification provided on completion.
  • Sign-off — clear handover so responsible persons can evidence compliance.

Working in occupied buildings

Most of our installation work takes place in buildings people live in. We plan around tenant access, communal areas, limited working hours and material handling in blocks, and coordinate with property managers and housing officers to keep disruption low and access rates high.

Supply and install

Alongside installation, Cochrane Doors supplies fire doors and internal doors, including ranges from Deanta and LPD, with JB Kind to follow. For landlords, contractors and procurement teams running multi-door schemes, we can supply and install as one joined-up package with bulk pricing on larger fire door orders.
